Taxes & Fees

Last Updated: September 2026

Right Fare Match believes customers should be able to understand the price of their travel reservation before completing a purchase.

This Taxes & Fees Policy explains how taxes, government-imposed charges, supplier charges, Right Fare Match fees, and other applicable amounts may apply to Flight, Car Rental, and Cruise reservations made through Right Fare Match.

Right Fare Match is an independent Online Travel Agency (OTA) operated by Plane To Paradise LLC.

1. Understanding Your Total Price

Travel prices can consist of several components.

Depending on the type of reservation, the total price presented to you may include:

  • Base fare or travel rate;
  • Government-imposed taxes;
  • Airport, port, facility, or transportation charges;
  • Supplier-imposed charges;
  • Right Fare Match service fees, where applicable;
  • Mandatory booking-related charges; and
  • Other amounts applicable to the selected travel product.

Before completing a purchase through Right Fare Match, customers should review the total amount presented for the transaction and the material terms associated with the reservation.

Taxes and fees vary according to the itinerary, destination, travel provider, booking source, travel dates, product selected, and applicable governmental or supplier requirements.

2. How Right Fare Match Determines Its Retail Price

Travel inventory available through Right Fare Match may be obtained through various travel-industry sources, including:

Global Distribution Systems (GDS) | Supplier APIs | NDC Connections | Airlines | Car Rental Suppliers | Cruise Suppliers | Consolidators | Wholesalers | Fare Dealers | Distributors | Other Travel Inventory Sources

Right Fare Match may independently determine the retail price offered to the customer based on available inventory, commercial arrangements, applicable costs, service components, and other relevant pricing factors.

Accordingly, the price offered through Right Fare Match may differ from:

  • A travel provider's direct price;
  • Another travel agency's price;
  • Another online travel website's price;
  • A supplier or consolidator rate; or
  • A wholesale or underlying inventory price.

Unless expressly stated for a particular promotion, Right Fare Match does not guarantee that a displayed or quoted price is the lowest price available in the marketplace.

3. Government Taxes & Mandatory Charges

Government authorities and transportation facilities may impose taxes or mandatory charges on travel transactions.

Depending on the reservation, these may include:

  • Transportation taxes;
  • Airport taxes;
  • Passenger facility charges;
  • Security-related charges;
  • Immigration or customs-related charges;
  • Tourism taxes;
  • Sales, use, excise, or similar taxes;
  • Rental-related taxes;
  • Port charges;
  • Government assessments; and
  • Other mandatory governmental charges.

The nature and amount of these charges vary according to the applicable jurisdiction and travel product.

Right Fare Match does not independently establish government-imposed tax rates.

4. Flight Taxes & Fees

A flight reservation may contain several components in addition to the underlying airfare.

Depending on the itinerary, applicable amounts may include:

Government Taxes | Airport Charges | Security Charges | Passenger Facility Charges | International Travel Taxes | Supplier Charges | Applicable Right Fare Match Fees

International itineraries may involve taxes or charges imposed by more than one country or airport authority.

The applicable amounts can vary according to:

  • Origin;
  • Destination;
  • Connecting airports;
  • International or domestic travel;
  • Cabin;
  • Fare;
  • Airline;
  • Ticketing arrangement; and
  • Applicable government requirements.

Applicable mandatory amounts forming part of the Right Fare Match flight transaction should be reflected in the total price presented before purchase.

5. Airline Optional Charges

Certain airline products and services may not be included in the ticket price unless expressly stated.

Examples may include:

  • Checked baggage;
  • Additional baggage;
  • Overweight or oversized baggage;
  • Advance seat selection;
  • Preferred seating;
  • Extra-legroom seating;
  • Priority boarding;
  • Airport services;
  • Meals;
  • Lounge access;
  • Wi-Fi;
  • Upgrades; and
  • Other optional airline services.

These charges are generally determined by the applicable airline and may be collected directly by the airline.

An optional airline service that is not selected or purchased through Right Fare Match should not be interpreted as included merely because the underlying flight was booked through us.

6. Right Fare Match Flight Service Fees

Right Fare Match may charge a service fee for certain flight reservation or post-booking services.

Depending on the transaction, such services may include:

  • Reservation assistance;
  • Assisted booking;
  • Modification assistance;
  • Cancellation processing;
  • Rebooking assistance;
  • Special service requests; or
  • Other travel-agency services requested by the customer.

Where a material Right Fare Match service fee applies to a transaction, it should be disclosed before the customer authorizes the applicable payment or service.

A Right Fare Match service fee is separate from an airline's fare, tax, penalty, fare difference, baggage charge, or other supplier-controlled amount unless expressly stated otherwise.

7. Car Rental Taxes & Fees

Car rental pricing can contain charges that differ substantially by rental location.

Depending on the reservation and rental provider, charges may include:

  • Base rental rate;
  • Sales or rental taxes;
  • Airport concession fees;
  • Facility charges;
  • Tourism assessments;
  • Vehicle licensing or registration recovery charges;
  • Local government surcharges;
  • Young-driver charges;
  • Additional-driver charges;
  • One-way rental charges;
  • Fuel-related charges;
  • Toll-related charges;
  • Optional protection products;
  • Optional equipment; and
  • Other rental-provider charges.

Some charges may be included in the amount reserved through Right Fare Match, while others may become payable directly to the rental provider.

8. Charges Payable at the Car Rental Counter

Certain amounts cannot always be included in the initial reservation price because they depend on decisions or circumstances occurring at vehicle pickup or during the rental.

Examples may include:

Optional Insurance or Protection | Additional Drivers | Child Seats | GPS or Equipment | Fuel | Tolls | Traffic Violations | Vehicle Damage | Late Return | Rental Extensions | Cleaning Charges | Other Incidentals

The rental provider may also require a security deposit or payment-card authorization hold at pickup.

A security deposit or authorization hold is not necessarily a Right Fare Match fee and may be controlled entirely by the rental provider.

Customers should review the rental provider's applicable terms before collecting the vehicle.

9. Cruise Taxes & Fees

Cruise pricing may include or be affected by:

  • Cruise fare;
  • Government taxes;
  • Port taxes;
  • Port expenses;
  • Passenger facility charges;
  • Supplier charges;
  • Applicable booking-related charges; and
  • Other mandatory amounts.

Applicable mandatory charges included in the Right Fare Match transaction should be reflected in the price presented before purchase.

10. Cruise Charges That May Be Separate

Certain cruise-related expenses may not be included in the reservation price unless expressly stated.

Depending on the cruise line and package, these may include:

  • Gratuities;
  • Shore excursions;
  • Specialty dining;
  • Alcoholic beverages;
  • Beverage packages;
  • Wi-Fi;
  • Spa services;
  • Casino spending;
  • Transfers;
  • Travel insurance;
  • Onboard purchases;
  • Optional activities; and
  • Other personal or incidental expenses.

Such charges may be collected directly by the cruise line or another provider.

11. Taxes & Fees on Changes

Changing an existing reservation can result in additional amounts.

Depending on the applicable product, a customer may be responsible for:

Fare or Rate Difference + Supplier Charges + Applicable Taxes + Right Fare Match Service Fee, if applicable and disclosed

For example, if a customer's original flight cost is lower than the newly selected flight, the customer may be required to pay the applicable fare difference in addition to any other permitted charges.

Availability and pricing are not guaranteed until the applicable change has been completed and confirmed.

12. Cancellation-Related Charges

Cancellation charges depend on the applicable reservation conditions.

A cancellation may involve:

  • Airline or supplier penalties;
  • Loss of a non-refundable fare or rate;
  • Cruise cancellation penalties;
  • Car rental cancellation charges;
  • Applicable Right Fare Match service fees; or
  • Other amounts permitted under the accepted booking conditions and applicable law.

Some travel products may be completely non-refundable for a voluntary customer cancellation.

For complete information, customers should review our Refund & Cancellation Policy and the conditions applicable to their individual reservation.

13. Bulk, Private, Promotional & Consolidator Inventory

Right Fare Match may offer inventory sourced through:

Consolidators | Wholesalers | Fare Dealers | Private Fares | Negotiated Arrangements | Bulk Inventory | Promotional Inventory

The retail price offered by Right Fare Match for such inventory may differ from the price displayed directly by the applicable travel provider.

The difference between an underlying inventory cost and the retail price offered by Right Fare Match should not automatically be interpreted as a separate tax or government fee.

Customers should rely on the total price and material terms presented for their transaction before purchase.

14. Separate Charges

Depending on the fulfillment and payment arrangement, a travel transaction may involve more than one charge.

For example, one portion may be processed by:

  • An airline;
  • A car rental provider;
  • A cruise supplier;
  • A consolidator or wholesaler;
  • Plane To Paradise LLC / Right Fare Match;
  • A payment processor; or
  • Another disclosed party involved in fulfilling the reservation.

Where an agreed transaction is legitimately processed through separate charges, the relevant payment arrangement and total amount should be disclosed where required before customer authorization.

The combined authorized charges should correspond to the total transaction the customer agreed to purchase.

15. No Unauthorized Additional Charges

Right Fare Match does not treat a customer's authorization for one transaction amount as authorization for a materially different transaction amount.

If a material price change occurs before completion of a transaction, the revised price should be presented to the customer for acceptance before the applicable purchase is completed.

Customers should always review the final amount before authorizing payment.

16. Currency & Foreign Exchange

Travel products may sometimes be priced or processed in a currency different from the customer's account currency.

In these circumstances, the customer's bank, card issuer, or payment network may:

  • Apply its own exchange rate;
  • Charge a foreign-transaction fee;
  • Apply a currency-conversion charge; or
  • Process currency adjustments.

Such bank- or card-issuer-imposed amounts are generally outside Right Fare Match's control and may not appear as part of the amount charged by Right Fare Match.

17. Dynamic Pricing

Travel pricing is dynamic.

Prices can change because of:

  • Inventory availability;
  • Fare-class availability;
  • Rental inventory;
  • Cruise cabin availability;
  • Travel dates;
  • Demand;
  • Supplier pricing;
  • Government tax changes;
  • Currency movements;
  • Commercial inventory arrangements; and
  • Other market or supplier factors.

A search result or quotation does not permanently lock a price unless the applicable reservation has been completed and confirmed under the relevant booking conditions.

18. Pricing Errors

Although reasonable efforts are made to display accurate prices, technical, supplier, transmission, or data errors may occasionally occur.

If a material pricing error is identified before a transaction is completed, the correct price should be communicated before purchase.

Right Fare Match will not intentionally substitute a materially higher price for an agreed price without obtaining appropriate customer authorization.

Where an error is discovered after booking, the matter will be handled according to applicable law, supplier requirements, and the circumstances of the transaction.

19. Refunds of Taxes & Fees

Whether a tax, fee, or other charge is refundable depends on:

  • Applicable law;
  • Nature of the charge;
  • Fare or rate conditions;
  • Supplier rules;
  • Whether the underlying service was used;
  • Reason for cancellation; and
  • Party that originally collected the amount.

Certain unused government-imposed taxes may remain refundable even where the underlying travel product is otherwise non-refundable.

Mandatory refund rights provided by applicable law are not waived by this Policy.

20. Receipts & Payment Information

Customers should retain their booking confirmation and payment records.

Depending on the transaction structure, the customer's payment statement may identify the party that processed the applicable charge.

Where multiple authorized charges form part of one travel transaction, customers may receive more than one payment record or statement entry.

21. Price Transparency

Before completing a reservation, customers should carefully review:

Travel Product | Provider | Dates | Itinerary | Total Price | Taxes & Mandatory Fees | Fare or Rate Conditions | Cancellation Terms | Material Restrictions

Right Fare Match aims to disclose material charges forming part of the transaction before payment authorization.

Optional services selected later, incidental expenses, and charges imposed separately by a travel provider based on events occurring after booking may not form part of the original Right Fare Match transaction price.
